What radiators to choose?
The type of radiators available on the market are: steel, cast iron, plate, aluminium, copper-aluminium, decorative or occurring as spatial structures. Important differences are the material from which they are made, the way of heat donating, heating power, construction. Below we present a brief characteristic of individual radiators.
Decorative steel heaters are lightweight and therefore easy to transport and assemble, heat up quickly, surface easy to clean, corrosion resistant, are available in many sizes and different shapes and interesting forms, they can be combined with the installation made of steel, copper or plastic.
Aluminum are also lightweight, have smooth, easy to clean surfaces, are resistant to increased humidity, so they are allowed to be installed also in the bathroom. Their surface is delicate, easily damaged by mechanical damage, not suitable for use in copper installations.
Cast iron heaters are heavy, massive and slowly heat up, but also cool for a long time. They are corrosion resistant and are therefore suitable for use under adverse conditions
Copper-aluminium are made of two systems: water made of copper tubes and heat donation – made of sheet metal.
The heater can heat through convection, that is, heat rise as a result of temperature difference, and through radiation or heat emitting, as a result of which the objects around heat up.
Choosing a place for a heater at this point is a very arbitrary and individual issue, it is still important to save in heating the premises, and therefore the location falls on the place under or around the window where there is a supply of cold air which needs to be heated so as not to losses in the room. On the other hand, the question of decoration and exposing of interiors remains, and then the choice falls on decorative heaters with interesting forms, shapes with decorative qualities, then you can also use much larger surface heating elements, and for very small adjust the size of the heater and the form.
